Jim has always had a passion for automobiles including studying repair procedures at a local vocational school during his high school years, later making the automobile repair industry his career choice. After graduation he worked at auto repair shops as a Body Repairman, Painter, Estimator as well as becoming a Manager.
Jim owned/operated his own auto repair business for 15 years, employing 20 employees. The repair shop became recognized as one of the most modern, reputable shops for quality repair in Dover, Delaware with numerous visits from other shop owners in the surrounding states – New Jersey, Maryland, Kentucky, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. The business hosted numerous local Chamber of Commerce events with multiple news articles being written about the business’s involvement in the community.
He was also instrumental in the development of industrial youth growth and served as judge in the state competitions for Vocational Industrial Clubs of America (VICA) from 1985-1991.
Scuse sold his auto repair business in 1997, and in 1999 moved to South Florida where he bought and sold real estate for a few years. Also, while in Florida he became a Herbalife Distributor leading the path to becoming Team Leader for his team of distributors and developing his team as leaders themselves in the industry of marketing and brand awareness of the product in which they believed in.
In 2005 Jim moved to Asheville, North Carolina. Beginning 2003 Jim worked for a major insurance company as an Auto Damage Claims Adjuster and retiring from the company in April 2020.
